Independence Day is here. Not only does this holiday kick off the summer, but it’s also a day to reflect on our status as American citizens. It’s a wonderful fortune not to be taken for granted. Some homeowners are taking their patriotism even further by painting their home red, white, and blue. These patriotic paint colors become increasingly common every year, especially when 4th of July is around the corner.
Patriotic Paint Colors for the Home Exterior
Some of our exterior painting projects have included home painting with the colors of the American flag. The color combination is a bit of a daring move. Red and blue, specifically, aren’t exactly an ideal combination since red is considered a warm color and blue a cool color. Nevertheless, patriotism beats out pure aesthetics for some homeowners.
If you decide to go this route, then consider white for the main portions of the wall and reserve red and blue for the trim. This is exactly what one California resident did with his home, which you can check out here.
Some homeowners have even taken it a step further and painted the American flag on one side of the exterior.
If the color combination is too drastic of a move for you, then it’s always enough to hang an American flag on your property or hang bunting over the rails or below a window.
Every Day Should be the 4th of July
Remember, while the 4th of July is only one day of the year, every day should be a celebration of your American heritage. If you want to wear your patriotism on your sleeve, then let JA Seekins Painting grace your home with red, white, and blue. We can do the same for the interior and provide a few other home brush-up tips as well. Let the patriotic paint colors show your pride as a citizen of the good ol’ U.S. of A.
